I'm Nanna Chez. I'm 78, I love a good letter, and I'm not quite ready to sit still. Come along for the travels, the stories and a little old-fashioned post in a very digital world.

Remember the excitement of finding a real letter in the letterbox? That's what I'd love to bring back.

The Nanna Chez Mail Club is a little monthly parcel of personality, with a letter from me, a postcard or travel photo, and a paper surprise tucked inside. A little glimpse of wherever in the world I happen to be.

A friendship that travelled through time

It all started with a letter when I was ten.

When I was ten, I found a pen friend named Juliet from Racine, Wisconsin, USA through the Possum's Pages children's section of the Sunday Mail newspaper in Adelaide, South Australia.

We started writing letters and, incredibly, we've stayed in touch for 68 years. These days it's mostly email, but the friendship is still there.

That's the magic of keeping in touch. A letter can start something that lasts a lifetime. And I'd love to share a little of that magic with you.

78 and still exploring

Home is wherever I happen to be.

After my husband passed away almost 20 years ago, life took some unexpected turns. After COVID, I gave up my apartment and decided to keep travelling instead of settling in one place.

These days, I'm living between Melbourne, Bali, Ho Chi Minh City and now Kyoto. Different places, different rhythms, and always something new to discover.

I also head off on solo adventures, including trips to Beijing, Taiwan and Seoul. Travelling on my own means I can follow my curiosity, take the unexpected turn and see where the day leads.

I'm here to share the places, people, little discoveries and occasional mishaps along the way. Because adventure doesn't come with an age limit.
